Zwiesel, Bavaria.Zwiesel is a holiday town in the heart of the Bavarian Forest National Park, The area is a haven for hiking (Nordic walking for the more energetic), cycling, mountain biking, golfers and visiting the nearby attractions. Next winter Zwiesel will host the 2011 downhill ski World Cup, the slopes in this area are renowned for beginner skiers and snowboarders alike, also we have cross country skiing just outside our front door with some of the most breathtaking winter landscape. Zwiesel is situated on the historic glass road trading route, In the heartland between Mount Arber, Falkenstein and Rachel. The town has a long history, its names originates from the south German word zwie-sal, which translates as double river bed and refers to the meeting of the two rivers Grosser Regen & Kleiner Regen. Legend has it that the first settlers were gold prospectors. Zwiesal Glass is Magic & Tradition, every movement in its creation demonstrates how the art of glass-making has been perfected, masterpieces made of crystal, for which Zwiesel is world famous.
